There is set to be a new addition to the African oil and gas pipelines industry: the highest trunk pipeline length of 8439 km contributed  over the course of 3 years, starting from 2018. By 2022, The total expected pipeline length to be contributed will be 31,714km bringing the total oil and gas pipeline length of the region to 115,226 km.

This development makes Nigeria’s capital expenditure the highest; coming in at $35.2 bn for the 3-year period. The country plans to increase its gas pipeline networks from its point of generation to power generation stations; with the aim of increasing gas utilisation and boosting electricity in the nation.

Other countries that follow closely in terms of new pipeline additions include Mozambique and South Africa. Privately owned Gas companies such as Luxxorgas, are making groundbreaking efforts in the distribution and commercialization of Natural Gas in West Africa.
